Service Description

This school holidays, My Little Treasure is heading into SPACE! 🚀🪐✨ Over three creative days, kids will try wheel throwing, hand building and painting each day, building their own little collection of space-inspired ceramic treasures. Planets, moons, rockets, UFOs, astronauts, aliens — or something completely imagined by them! The space theme is just a starting point, with plenty of freedom for kids to experiment with their own ideas, shapes, colours and characters. We’ll provide demonstrations, ideas and guidance along the way, but there are no set designs to copy. We want each child to have the freedom to experiment, be creative and make something that feels completely their own. Day 1 — Explore & Make 🪐 Get started on the pottery wheel and experiment with small bowls and rounded forms. Kids will also explore hand building and begin adding colour, texture and their own space-inspired details. Day 2 — Build Your Space World 👽 Continue on the wheel and explore different hand-building and sculpting techniques. Make planets, UFOs, astronauts, aliens or something entirely new, then add personality with colour, pattern and texture. Day 3 — Create, Decorate & Finish 🚀 Bring everything together on the final day. Kids can develop their favourite ideas, make new pieces and finish decorating their collection with colourful underglazes and their own individual details. ✨ By the end of the three days, each child will have created their own little collection of handmade ceramic treasures, inspired by their own imaginary corner of space. This programme is suitable for complete beginners as well as kids with previous pottery experience. Please bring a snack, lunch and a towel. All materials are included (clay, underglazes, glazing & firing). Finished pieces will be glazed and fired and ready for collection approximately 4–5 weeks after the programme.
