Service Description

No previous pottery experience required. Make your own illustrated ceramic platter in this one-day workshop using the beautiful sgraffito technique — a process of carving through coloured slip to reveal unique designs beneath. During this 3-hour session, you’ll: Hand-build your own platter shape using clay Apply black slip for bold contrast Sketch and carve your own design (bring a photo or get inspired in the studio!) Not confident in drawing? Don’t worry... we have templates you can use! Experiment with floral, architectural, or nature-inspired motifs This class is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to try something creative and calming. After the session, we’ll glaze and fire your piece. It is recommended to trim nails before the class. Pottery contains many dangerous chemicals and materials - so if you are pregnant or have health issues you need to let your tutor know so she can advise you on best practice. Please note that due to limited places once you have booked, we will not issue refunds unless we can find someone else to take your place.
